Canadian wind developer Western Wind Energy Corp is working with turbine developers to acquire up to 120 megawatts of wind turbine generators for its proposed Windstar project in Tehachapi, California.
Western Wind hopes to take delivery of the turbines in late 2008 with commissioning expected in the second quarter of 2009.
Officials were not immediately available for comment.
Western Wind, of Coquitlam, British Columbia, operates about 34.5 MW of wind power in California and has projects under development in Arizona and California.
